MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

A Colquitt County High School student was arrested and charged for bringing a B. B. Gun to school.

18-year-old Ronald West was arrested Friday afternoon at the school after another student saw the gun in his book bag and alerted school officials.  The superintendent says he's pleased with how the administration handled the situation.

"As quickly as the tip was given, the administration got on it and it was handled, of course the authorities were involved and they will do their part and then we do our part. It's a suspension at first and then it'll probably lead to an expulsion," said Superintendent Dr. Samuel DePaul.

West is charged with carrying a concealed weapon within a school zone.
