TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Tifton vapor store owner is defending electronic cigarettes saying they are a safer and cheaper alternative to cigarettes for adults.

Glenn Williams owns South Georgia Vapor in Tifton and says electronic cigarettes are a nicotine delivery device combined with three food ingredients and vapor.  He says thousands of chemical components produce nicotine when smoking a regular cigarette and is more harmful to the body. He says his store makes sure the devices aren't in the hands of teenagers, but that electronic cigarettes are not a bad thing.

"We don't want the teenagers to have them, but there's a lot of adults that have been smoking cigarettes for years, and years, and years that are looking for a safe alternative to get out of the cigarette," said Glenn Williams.

Williams says you can educate yourself on the devices by visiting a variety of vape forums online.
