Runners get muddy during run at MCLB

People got down and dirty during Saturday's annual Mud Run at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

About 300 people signed up for this year's race. In its second year and people could compete in an individual or team race. There was even a costume contest. People as young as five and as old as 83 enjoy participating in the event.

"The great thing about this is it's a  chance to open up the base, get the community out here, get them a chance to see what marines do and motivate them," said Col. Don Davis.

The mud run was also a benefit for Toys for Tots. Runners were asked to bring an unwrapped toy for those in need this holiday season.
