Benning Dr. shooting victim arrested for Aggravated Assault

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The man who was injured in a shooting on Benning Dr. last month has now been arrested on an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault.

Travis Porter, 32, was riding as a passenger with Dior Cheney on Oct. 29 when a gunman opened fire on the two, killing Cheney and wounding Porter in the abdomen and buttocks.

Porter is also the alleged gunman in a house party shooting that took place on Aug. 2, 2013, at 2609 Garden Dr. in Columbus. He was arrested for the incident at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2013.  

Porter was allegedly in violation of probation as well, and was scheduled to appear in Recorders Court at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.
