    The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened Thursday night in Augusta. At around 11:35 p.m., deputies were called out to 1603 Jonathan Court for a reported drive-by shooting.

The Better Business Bureau is concerned this may confuse citizens, with scammers finding new tricks to take money or steal information from people. A federal law signed in 2015 lets four contractors collect unpaid tax debts from the government. Those companies are CBE Group, Conserve, Performant, and Pioneer. The Augusta Fire Department is on the scene of a house fire in South Augusta.

Crews have contained the blaze off Rose Hill Drive.

No word yet on what caused the fire, or of any injuries.

    Five new family medicine doctors will soon enter the workforce after spending three years of their residency here in Albany. Doctors Danielle Andrews, Sarah Codrea, Justin Lancaster, John Macon and Jennifer Yam graduated the Phoebe Family Medicine Residency program Saturday night at the Doublegate Country Club.
