ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Hundreds of people who are considered homeless came out for free resources like healthcare, food, and clothing Friday morning.

The annual project is called Stand Up for Our Neighbors, and ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center on 100 West Oglethorpe Boulevard, Albany, GA.

Officials say the event is a one-stop shop model for delivering services to people experiencing homelessness. These services include food, housing, employment, sign-up of program benefits, medical care, vision care, dental care, mental health care, haircuts, and legal assistance. Some even qualified for housing on the spot.

The effort is part of the Albany Dougherty Coalition to End Homelessness. It's organized for the purpose of acting as an advisory committee to the Albany Board of Commissioners and Dougherty County for the prevention of homelessness among the citizens of Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia.
