GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenwood police are investigating a fatal shooting outside a private club on Seaboard Avenue Thursday night.

Officers said they responded to reports of shots fired, and when they arrived, they found a man shot in a parking lot.

The victim was taken to Self Regional Healthcare, where he later died, Capt. Nick Futch said.

Police said Alphonso Morgan Jr. was arrested a short time later and taken to jail. He was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Futch said Morgan is at the Greenwood Detention Center and will be arraigned on Friday.

Investigators said the shooting was the result of some kind of dispute, but haven't released more information.

This follows a busy week for Greenwood police. Police arrested a man on Thursday after two women were found shot to death in a motel Wednesday.
