Update: No bond for Baconton murder suspect


On Thursday, Terrence Wheeler, 26, of Moultrie was charged with the murder of his cousin Joe Williams, 76, of Baconton. 

Friday, Wheeler heard the officials charges against him read in court. Only superior court judges can grant bond for murder defendants, so Wheeler is waiting for that to happen.

Williams' body was found by relatives at his residence, 8877 Honeysuckle Road in Baconton in the morning of November 13.  He died of an apparent gunshot wound. 

The sheriff's office requested the GBI assist with the investigation which resulted in Wheeler being charged with one count of Felony Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault.  

Wheeler the murder suspect is the same person charged with breaking in to Ponder's Seafood in Moultrie.

Wheeler lives in Moultrie, and is being held in the Mitchell County Jail.
