Self-defense classes offered

The Albany Recreation and Parks Department & Albany Technical College presents classes on Basic Techniques of Self Defense in Real World Situations.

The  Instructor is 5th Degree Black Belt Edwin Willis, a retired Georgia Champion in Kickboxing, with over 120 Karate awards. He is the Director for Security at Phoebe Health Systems.

The Children's Workshop, For children 8 and older, is set for Monday, November 25, 2013 (all children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).

The Adult Workshop on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 Registration: 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

Hands-on workshops are held from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, at Albany Technical College, in the Kirkland Building.

    The Lee County fire chief is issuing a warning tonight about how hot playground equipment can get during the summer. Chief David Forrester said some equipment can reach more than 150-degrees this time of the year.
