Bloomingdale Elementary students learn about music business

Students at some Savannah-Chatham schools got the chance to learn more about the music business on Wedesday.

At Bloomingdale Elementary, Dina Fanai, who is a vocalist, songwriter and composer, spoke to students about the business.

She even did some singing for them.

Fanai works with a number of artists, and she sings with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

She thinks teaching students does more than just get them interested in music.

"I think the things that they got out if it is what they said they got out of it. They learned to never give up, to believe in themselves, to learn skills, to work hard for what you believe in, and that's what I was hoping to communicate, and I think I did," Fanai said.

Fanai split the visit with Melissa Zapin, a voiceover actress and operatic singer.
