Albany Rescue Mission celebrates 25 years, 85,000 meals served

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A place of comfort and shelter in Albany is celebrating a quarter of a century of service to the community, and they say they aren't' stopping there.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard represented the City of Albany in proclaiming Wednesday Albany Rescue Mission Day.

Mission founder Brother Larry Hample and Womens Director Sharon Boykin received a plaque commemorating the day.

The Albany Rescue Mission says it has served 85,000 meals over its 25 years. The ministry serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to anyone who shows up. They also house up to 45 men and 20 women and children each night.

In addition, Albany Rescue Mission provides job training, and is a church too, where the gospel of Jesus is preached.

The non-profit relies solely on donations. If you would like to donate, call 431-1125.
