Sandra Deal supports Lily Pad Center

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Georgia's first lady toured the Lily Pad Center Tuesday night to see what a day in the life of an advocate or forensic interviewer is like.

The child advocacy and rape crisis center gets state grant money and is ready to serve abuse victims 24 hours a day.

Interim Executive Director Mary Martinez said, "We were so lucky and honored to have Mrs. Deal, First Lady of Georgia, and we were honored to be able to show her what it is that we do and how we serve our victims, because at the end of the day that's the most important thing is that all of our victims are serviced."

Martinez said, to make sure that happens, It's vital to have dedicated workers willing to come in whenever victims need them.
