EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office have an absconded sex offender in custody Tuesday after he failed to register as a sex offender.

Deputies have been searching for Christian Feuerlein, 41, or Savannah since Nov. 7.

"The Effingham County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Tracking Unit discovered Feuerlein, who was living in Chatham County, recently moved to a residence in Effingham County without registering with [the] Sheriff's Office," Sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

Feuerlein turned himself in Tuesday morning and is currently being held in the Effingham County Jail.
