POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force will host the fourth annual Flying Fortress 5K: The Race for Character Counts on Nov. 16.

Race proceeds will go to the museum's mission, including the restoration of the B-17 Flying Fortress "City of Savannah" and the Character Counts education program.

The race will begin and end at the museum at 175 Bourne Avenue in Pooler. The kids fun run begins at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each age group.

The Character Counts education program is funded by the museum throughout the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.

Registration is open until the day of the race. Participants can register for $30 until Nov. 14. Registration increases to $35 on Nov. 15 and 16. Register by calling the museum at 912.988.1836 or do it online at www.fleetfeetsavannah.com/fortress.
