A group of Albany State University students received some real world training. The social work students attended the Rainbow Push 14 Annual Creating Opportunity Conference in Atlanta last weekend.
The students learned about public policy, voting rights and education funds. Students say these conferences are beneficial to their future careers.
"We get to meet different people and we can network, but we also learn about the different things going on within the government so we can be abreast to the situation when it comes down to out clients," said attendee LaToria Jackson .
Students got to meet Reverend Jessie Jackson and representatives with the Congressional Black Caucus.
