ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany city commissioner-elect had her volunteers picking up campaign signs the morning after her victory.

B. J. Fletcher asked volunteers to start picking up her signs Wednesday, after she won the Albany Ward 3 Commission seat. She says she wants the city to be neat and clean, and there's no need for political signs to stay up longer than they have to.

She says last night's victory makes the work easier. "You can float with it. You can float with it after the win. Get out there working hard. That win just adds a little punch to it," said Fletcher Volunteer Lafayette Filmore.

Albany Code Enforcement Director Mike Tilson says candidates and volunteers have been good about following the sign ordinance, and officers have picked up few political signs for being in the wrong areas.
