A tractor trailer rig rolled onto its side on the Jefferson Street exit ramp coming off the US 19 Bypass in Albany.
The truck overturned heading into the long curve on the Jefferson Street Exit heading downtown. The semi was loaded with large paper rolls.
Two college students who witnessed the crash pulled over to help the driver.
"He was extremely lucky. If you could see the front of the semi, you would think, he was really lucky. He probably should have been dead. And he was able to just walk away with just minor scrapes," said witness Danielle Rogers.
The witnesses say the driver did not have any obvious injuries.
More than three hours after the crash, crews were still off-loading the huge rolls of paper from the semi before it could be moved.
