ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany business woman, who lost a close race for mayor two years ago, wins a seat on the Albany City Commission.

BJ Fletcher easily topped Ward III Commissioner Christopher Pike and Cheryl Calhoun, for an outright win with no runoff.

Supporters at the victory party at BJ's Country Buffet cheered when they learned about Fletcher's victory. Fletcher says she is ready to get the work immediately for the people of her district. WALB also spoke with outgoing commissioner Christopher Pike about Tuesday night's outcome and his time as a city official.

"Oh I'm not going to wait until January, this is absolutely what it's about, this is a representation not only of Ward III but of the entire city, I said all along this is what it's about, look at this group," said BJ Fletcher, incoming Ward III commissioner.

"I think the person with the most money won tonight, we will see in the next four years, what Albany will get from that," said Christopher Pike, outgoing Ward III commissioner.

Fletcher will be sworn it as the new commissioner of Ward III in January.
