ASHBURN, GA (WALB) -

Rescue Smokers took home best overall and best pig honors last weekend at the Big Pig Jig in Vienna.

"It was a real honor, it's still a big honor you know," said restaurant owner Randy Poore. "We are still on cloud nine about it, living a barbeque dream."

It's the first time they've won the top award after multiple years of coming close. Owner Randy Poore says the title has already resulted in more business.

"Doing good on my ribs and my brisket," Poore said. "They say its best brisket they ever had."

Rescue's will be running a Thanksgiving special this year on Boston butts and smoked turkeys.
