COLQUITT COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Officials in Moultrie and Colquitt County are looking for ways to combine services to save money.

At a recent joint city-county meeting officials discussed areas where cooperation between the two governments could be possible. Elections, healthcare, waste services, and law enforcement were among the services discussed. County officials say the idea is just good business.

"It makes business sense, it makes sense for the community. We're all dealing with a finite set of resources and we do a lot of the same type of things and it just makes sense for us all to work together as much as we can to try to maximize the resources we have to work with," said County Administrator Mike Stewart.

City and County officials will have another meeting at a later date to discuss other suggestions.
