MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

A convenience store in Moultrie is undergoing repairs after the driver in a pickup truck blacked out and smashed into the store.

The front of this Murphy Express on Veterans Parkway is boarded up after a pickup truck rammed through its front windows before 11 o'clock Sunday night.

"The driver of the vehicle who stated that she must have blacked out, because she was parking and then the next thing she knew she was inside of the store," Lt. Jerry Walters with the Moultrie Police Department.

Martha Montgomery was driving the 2001 Ford Ranger. A witness who drove up to the Murphy's express to get gas after the crash snapped this photo of the truck inside.

"The plate glass window and door to the store was busted out and there were several items of consumable goods inside that were destroyed," said Lt. Walters.

Police say one person suffered minor injuries. They say Maria Perez was inside the store when she heard a loud noise and was pinned between a display and beer cooler. She managed to get out and wasn't seriously hurt.

"Not a serious or life threatening injury, I think it was a broken bone, broken arm or something," said Lt. Walters.

Police say no charges will be filed.

"This is a private property accident and we do not file charges for accidents that happen off of the road way," said Lt. Walters.

Both Montgomery and Perez were transported and treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. We spoke on the phone with a Murphy Express representative who did not give a monetary value on the damages, but did say that within hours, they had everything cleaned up and plastic put up. The store remains open for business as repairs continue.

Both Montgomery and Perez were treated at the hospital and released.
