Tift shooting victim still reluctant to talk

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tift County Sheriff’s Investigators are continuing their investigation of a shooting reported Monday afternoon.

 

The victim 26 year old Joseph Justin Barnes has been released from the hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his side.

Sheriff's investigators still don't know where Barnes was shot or why as he still will not talk to them about what happened.

 

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Investigator Adam Tanner or Investigator Matt Ruberson at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division 229-388-6021.

    A Grady County project that has been in the works since 2007 is now one step closer to being complete. The conceptual plan for the proposed aquatic center project was recently approved by the Grady County Board of Commissioners.  The plan features an eight lane swimming pool, splash pad, and fenced in play area.

    Grady County deputies are cracking down on illegal dumping. If you have big items that you need to get rid of such as a couch or a mattress, you need to be careful where you dump it, because you could face fines up to $700 dollars. "That's exactly right, it's an ugly site," said Sheriff Harry Young. Young he's had enough of the illegal dumping going on in Grady County. Encouraging his deputies to now hand out tickets instead of warnings.
