People come together to pray for Dawson's mayor

Community leaders are urging south Georgians to continue to pray for Dawson Mayor Christopher Wright who was shot in his home and critically wounded Thursday night.

Monday night, people gathered at Dawson City Hall to sing and pray. Pastors of several churches spoke about the mayor and the need to support him and his family. Rev. Ezekiel Holley said, "We would like to say to the family, they have our prayers, and all these people out here tonight was praying for the mayor a speedy recovery."

Folks at the vigil donated about $1700 to help with Wright's medical bills. There is an account set up for donations at the Bank of Terrell.
