Agreement allows base children to attend school of their choice

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

School board members will discuss an agreement between the Marine Corps Logistics Base and the school district that will allow military children to attend the school of their choice .

Most are enrolled in the Worth County school system. The agreement allows service members to attend schools outside their district.

The school district will also provide transportation, and have counselors meet with students prior to enrollment.

"Its very important because the base is such an important part of the economic train of this community. They provide their services to the community and the school district," says Dr. David Mosley, superintendent of the Dougherty County school system.

The school board  meets Monday at 6 pm downtown.
