CRISP COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Crisp County Sheriff's investigators are looking for a man they say is connected to a possible aggravated assault case.

Malcom Jamahrl Thomas, 23, of Cordele is wanted on two warrants after authorities say he ran away from a traffic stop in Crisp County, and fired a gun at a woman.

The chase happened on Sunday. Officials tell WALB that Thomas and a female friend got into an argument at a convenience store in Cordele, and she tried to get away in her car. Crisp County deputies say she drove to the intersection of 25th Avenue and 13th Street in the county. That's when authorities say Thomas fired a gun into the woman's vehicle. She was not hit by the shots.

Crisp County High School and Middle School were placed on a "soft lockdown" as a precaution during the search Monday.

Deputies said Thomas crashed his vehicle after leading them on for a short distance, then ran from the scene.

Thomas is charged with two counts of making terroristic threats. More charges are pending.

Anyone with information on Thomas's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's office at 229-276-2600.
