An Albany man who threw a kilo of cocaine off a South Albany bridge following a high speed police chase will spend the next 30 years in prison.

Gregory Greene, 43, received the sentence and a $1 million fine Monday afternoon in Dougherty Superior Court.

On October 22nd Greene pleaded guilty to 29 counts ranging from cocaine trafficking to traffic charges.

Officials say Greene jumped from his moving car and threw what turned out to be a kilo of coke into the Flint River. Authorities say it was so well wrapped, it floated and was later picked up by agents.

Greene has been convicted twice before on drug distribution issues.
