DALE CO., AL, (WSFA) -

A third person has died after a head-on collision in Dale County late Saturday night.

Alabama state troopers confirm Caiden Hughes, 7, of Lizella, GA, died Monday at 5:35 p.m. at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The crash happened at 11:15 p.m. on Alabama 27 at the 40.1 mile marker eight miles north of Ozark.

Authorities say Timothy Stafford, 53, of Abbeville was killed when the 2002 Ford Ranger he was driving collided head-on with a 1998 Toyota Camry. Stafford was not wearing a seat belt, and preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have been a factor, according to the Alabama Highway Patrol.

Hughes was a passenger in the Camry. The driver of the Camry, Alana Wuolukka, 26, of Lizella, was also killed.

Two other passengers in Wuolukka's vehicle were injured:

  • David Poole of Lizella, GA, who was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with serious injuries. (He is an adult, but age is unknown at this time.)

  • Destiny Hughes, 5, of Lizella, GA, who was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with serious injuries.
