HANCOCK COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A 16-year-old driver totaled her car in Hancock County just after midnight Sunday morning.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office says Allyson Wolfarth, 16, of Bluffton was following friends on County Rd. 313 when she attempted to pass the lead vehicle and lost control of her car.

As the car slid out of control it struck an AEP utility pole on the passenger side, rotated around the pole and eventually came to rest in a field.

Wolfarth was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Her condition is unknown at this time.

Wolfarth was cited for reckless operation, violating prohibited driving hours and failing to wear a seat belt.
