The Falcons opened the season with dreams of a Super Bowl win in New York in February. These days, they'd settle for a win anywhere.
Matt Ryan threw three interceptions in consecutive games for the first time in his career, one of them returned 38 yards for a touchdown by veteran defensive back Drayton Florence as the Carolina Panthers routed Atlanta, 31-10.
It's the 4th win in a row for the Panthers (5-3) and keeps the Falcons (2-6) winless in four road games this season.
Atlanta came into the game with the worst rushing offense in the NFL at just 62 yards per game, but managed 78 yards against the Panthers.
The Falcons had just three drives that crossed midfield against a Carolina defense that's giving up just 12 points per game during its win streak.
Former Westlake HS and Auburn star Cam Newton threw for 259 yards and a touchdown and he ran for a second score late in the game.
Ryan completed 20 of 27 passes for 219 yards with a touchdown pass to Tony Gonzalez.
