A man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested early Saturday after a fatal crash in Orangeburg County.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres said Robert Jennings, 20, was driving west on Riverbank Drive around 1 a.m. when he attempted to pass another vehicle when the two collided.
The driver of the other vehicle, 19-year-old Anise Portis, died and two passengers were transported to a local hospital, Beres said. Their conditions are not known.
Beres said Jennings was not injured.
Jennings is now facing two counts of felony DUI, Beres said. He has bonded out of the Orangeburg County jail.
The crash is still under investigation.
