Big Pig Jig already underway

VIENNA, GA (WALB) -

Great Bar B-Q cooking starts tonight at Georgia's official cooking contest. Contestants are preparing their meats for the 32nd Big Pig Jig.     

More than 100 contestants are participating in the cook-off, and organizers expect more than 10,000 people to attend.  

"Hopefully no rain, we're hoping this rain decides that it wants to go a different way. They're also going to be able to walk around and see some of the world's best Bar B-Q cooking teams do their thing," said Chair Committee Mike Roper.     

The Grand Champion gets a trophy, $2500, and advances to the Memphis in May World Championship. The Big Pig Jig is underway now. Gates open again tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.      Admission is $5 then and $10 after 3:00 p.m.
