A lot of south Georgia churches offered alternatives to traditional trick-or-treating Thursday night.
St. Patrick's Episcopal Church on Old Dawson Road hosted trunk or treat. Church members parked their cars in the church parking lot and let kids come up to the trunks to get candy.
They say it's a good way to connect with the community. Deacon Joy Davis said, "Any opportunity you can take to get people to come and meet you and meet your parishioners is always important, and we love to take the opportunity to meet the people."
St. Patrick's plans to put this event on again next year.
