UPDATE: 33 year-old Untarius Shelton was arrested on November 1 after a confrontation with police, in which he rammed an APD cruiser.
He was wanted for armed robbery, kidnapping, and other charges after a man was robbed October 20th in an alley behind East Broad Avenue.
An officer saw Shelton in his car and began following him. When a State Trooper also showed up, Shelton turned around and crashed into the APD car on Jefferson Street near the bypass a little after 6:15 p.m.
The officer wasn't hurt. Shelton was arrested.
A man who goes by the nickname "Insane" is accused of some serious crimes here in Albany and police want him on the streets.
Albany Police have issued warrants against Untarious Shelton for Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of A Crime.
Investigators say on October 20th, Shelton was one of three men who robbed a man at gunpoint in the alley behind the 700 block of East Broad Avenue.
They forced the victim inside a Honda Accord and robbed him of a cell phone and cash. They then let him out and took off.
Shelton - AKA "Insane" or "Sane" is 33 years old. He's 5 foot 9 and 170 pounds. His last know address is the 1300 block of Mobile Avenue.
