Gulfport shoplifting suspect tracked down in Ocean Springs

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Shortly after asking for the public's help finding a shoplifting suspect who escaped from court, Gulfport Police announced they had their woman.

Lisa Karen Lukens was arrested at a friend's home in Ocean Springs Thursday. Just two days earlier, Lukens was in Municipal Court in Gulfport facing a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting. When the charges were upgraded to a felony, police said she slipped out of her handcuffs and escaped.

Investigators said tips from the public helped them track her down in Ocean Springs. This time, she's being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond for Felony Shoplifting and a $100,000 bond for Felony Escape.
