ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
An Albany man is recognized for his work training students for the workforce. Jimmy Cross received the Turner Job Corps Partner of the Year Award today.
He's the Construction manager for Flint River Habitat for Humanity. He helps train students to build, repair, and remodel houses in the community. He says it's important to prepare students for the workforce.
"They'll learn not only job skills, but skills that they'll need throughout the rest of their life. We try to give them a little bit of incentive to be respectful and to not only show up on time, be punctual but when you say something do it," said Cross.
Cross has been the Flint River Habitat Construction Manager for three years.
