Albany Police to host Halloween "treat event "

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Thursday night, during Trick or Treating, you may see the largest concentration of law enforcement on South Georgia streets for any night of the year.

From 5 to 8 PM Albany Police and the Lee County Sheriff's Office both will have pumpkin patrols on duty.

State probation and parole officers will also be out.

Albany Police will host a Halloween event at the downtown Law Enforcement Center for folks who don't want to go door to door trick or treating.

Albany Police Media Manager Phyllis Banks said "We'll be holding an event here at the Law Enforcement center, from 5 to 8. Where parents can bring their children in, and partake of some treats as well as some crime prevention information also."

Police urge parents to make sure their trick or treater's costumes are visible in the dark,  even adding reflective tape.

Also carry flashlights, Stay in groups, and always check the treats before they are eaten.
