ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

College students led an effort tonight to make sure voters are well-informed.  The Darton DIRT or Democratic, Independent, Republican Club held a forum for Albany City Commission candidates.      It gave Darton students and voters from the community a chance to ask questions to the candidates in Wards 2 and 3.

Organizers say young voters play a huge role in elections.

"This is important for us, more so than anybody else because I think a lot of young people are uninformed about issues in general, elections have consequences, if somebody is elected that you don't agree with you don't have the right to say you don't agree with it," said Matthew White, event organizer.

Students organizers tell us they'll have more events like this in the future when other local elections come around.
