Connor Shaw still dealing with virus issue

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

South Carolina senior quarterback Connor Shaw is once against dealing with health problems this week.

Shaw did not attend Tuesday night's practice because he's dealing with a stomach bug.

Shaw was also battling the virus Saturday night when the Gamecocks pulled off that dramatic win against Missouri. He was also dealing with a sprained left knee suffered the week before against Tennessee.

Shaw entered the Missouri game in the third quarter and led Carolina to a double overtime victory.

Coach Steve Spurrier doesn't know about Shaw's availability for this weekend's game against Mississippi State.

"Shaw still has a virus. I don't know what are trainers are calling it, but he's sick. He's sick, not going to practice today, he didn't practice last night. But if he's unable to go, Dylan [Thompson] will be ready," said Spurrier.

The Gamecocks come back home to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday to play the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Kickoff is at 12:21 p.m.
