Convicted drug dealer who stole police car sentenced

A Fitzgerald man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking crack cocaine.

Terrance Robinson, 29, was sentenced Monday to 10 years imprisonment by a Valdosta Judge.

Robinson entered a guilty plea on July 29th to one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Authorities say Robinson was stopped by officers with the Tift County Sheriff's office in May 2012 near Ocilla for a traffic violation.

According to a report, Robinson admitted that he struggled with officers during the traffic stop, and ultimately drove off in a stolen police car as other officers chased him.

Robinson eventually wrecked the police car, crashing head-on into another police vehicle.

Officers later found 21 plastic baggies containing more than 400 grams of crack cocaine in the original car he was driving.
