ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Halloween arrived early at Phoebe Putney Hospital today. Employees lined the hallways of the second floor, dressed in their favorite costumes.

They passed out candy to about a dozen kids who are patients at the hospital.  Workers say a hospital can be a scary place for kids, and they want to make sure the young patients get to enjoy Halloween.

"This is just a way for them to be able to let go and experience normal day life but with Halloween coming up this is what they want to be doing. They want to go trick or treating. They want to dress up or get some candy so we are just trying to bring fun to the hospital," says Mandy Lanier, a Child Life Specialist.

Miss Georgia Carly Mathis also visited kids at the hospital today.
