Dougherty Co. Police ask for help in sexual assault case

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police are investigating the sexual assault of an Albany State University student at an off-campus party. Now investigators are asking the community for help.

The 19 year old woman says the sexual assault happened at an apartment on Holly Drive in the early morning hours of October 20th. She reported that three men assaulted her at the party, where alcohol was involved.

Investigators have been interviewing suspects, two of whom are also Albany State University students.

Dougherty County Police are asking anyone who was at that party to call them.

"We don't know how big of a party it was," said Dougherty County Police Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick. "Whether it was a big party or not. We know there was a gathering there, and alcohol was involved."

No arrests have been made.

If you have information about this incident, you can call Dougherty County Police at 430-6600, or the anonymous crime stoppers hotline at 436-TIPS.
