ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Here's a happy ending to the story of a dog we told you about last month.

Phoebe the great Dane was emaciated, dehydrated, and near death when she was found next to a road in Americus in late August.

WALB met her a few weeks later at Whispering Pines Animal Hospital.

At the time she had gained 20-pounds and was doing much better.

She is doing even better now. Pictures show Phoebe with her tiny new Yorkshire terrier friend at her new home in Schley County.

Volunteers from Georgia Southwestern helped pay for her care and say she's doing great with her new family.
