Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say a pedestrian was hit and killed while walking down a highway Monday morning in Colleton County.
According the Highway Patrol's traffic website, Troopers were called to Sidneys Road at Chestnut Road near Pack A Sack Storage around 6 a.m.
Authorities say the driver of a Chevy Tahoe hit a female pedestrian who was wearing dark clothing while walking with the flow of traffic.
According to emergency officials, the driver of the SUV was not injured and called 911.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Colleton County Coroner's Office are investigating the accident.
