Murder victim's family speaks on Robert Bell arrest

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The relatives of three Albany natives, killed in September last month in metro Atlanta, are relieved that the accused killer is finally in jail.

Robert Bell is awaiting extradition to Georgia to face murder charges after he was captured in Louisiana.

Relatives of Raynard Daniels say getting Bell off the streets is an answer to their prayers.

For the family of Raynard Daniels, the healing process is just beginning after he was killed in Snellville last month.

"It's just a one step. Just a step to us knowing why. We're not there yet, but almost," said Kim Daniels, sister.

Daniels, his godmother Angelina Benton, and her son Joseph McDonald were gunned down at Benton's home in Snellville September 15th. Robert Bell, the suspected killer, was on the run until he was picked up in New Orleans yesterday.

"We knew eventually soon he would be caught, but we didn't know it would be this soon," said Kim Daniels, sister.

Benton took in Bell and his wife to help them get back on their feet. The Daniels Family says they still don't have a reason for the deaths.

"Eventually we will forgive him. Just not at this moment, but I wish him the best. And even though he took something from us I hope God has mercy on his soul. I really do." said Kim Daniels, sister.

Daniels says she doesn't want to remember the tragic incident that happened to her younger brother, only the good memories.

"He was amazing and that's all I want to remember about him," said Kim Daniels.

Kim Daniels says she and her family plan to be at Bell's court hearings, hoping to find some answers.

Raynard Daniels' birthday is Monday and the family plans to have a celebration in his honor.

Robert Bell was found at a homeless shelter in New Orleans Thursday afternoon.
