Boil-Water Alert lifted for Ole Miss water supply

(WMC-TV) - The University of Mississippi water supply is now safe to drink, according to tests performed by the Mississippi Department of Health.

The lift comes days after a Boil-Water Alert  was issued for the nearly 20,000 people who use the Ole Miss water supply system. The University of Mississippi drinking water supply showed presence of total coliform bacteria.

The alert was meant for anyone who receives their drinking water from the University of Mississippi's water supply, which is located in Lafayette County.
