BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU running back Jeryl Brazil has been suspended indefinitely from the football team after being arrested last week for battery and damaging a woman's apartment.

The victim told LSU Police that Brazil came to her apartment upset, and that she and other friends attempted to calm him down.  She told officers that Brazil grabbed her by the neck, shoved her onto a sofa, and punched a hole in the wall before leaving.

Brazil was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple criminal damage to property and simple battery for the most recent incident.

The Loranger native was issued a misdemeanor summons last month for an alleged fight that happened outside an on-campus dining hall.

LSU head coach Les Miles announced Brazil's suspension on Wednesday after practice in his press conference.

Brazil has 2 carries for 10 yards on the season.
