ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Saturdays clean up along the Flint is being called a big success Folks with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful as well as volunteers from around the Albany area cleaned up the Flint River Saturday.

They pulled out tires, and lots of other junk that people have thrown in the Flint. Judy Bowles with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful says she is glad folks came out, and encourages those who didn't come out this weekend, to come out in April.

"To give your Saturday is a commitment and it's wonderful to see that people care enough about their community and have pride enough in their community to donate a Saturday," said Judy Bowles, Executive Director, Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful.

Folks with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful say they don't know the weight yet of all the  trash that was collected Saturday, but they say it was "enormous."
