ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The right lane of the Liberty Expressway at the Jefferson Street will close Tuesday morning. Temporary barriers will be put up as a construction project gets underway.

"It will be a very, very great addition to our community. It's gonna even make all of the values and all of the properties in that particular part of our county more valuable. And hopefully we can even bring some more jobs to our community because of it," said County Comm. Chairman Jeff Sinyard.

The speed limit in the construction zone will be 55 miles per hour and it will remain that way throughout the construction process which is expected to last until December 2015.

And motorists should know the right lanes of both the north and South bound directions of Jefferson Street will be closed beginning 9:00 until 3:30 beginning next Monday until Halloween to complete the temporary light installation at the base of the ramp.

A state department of transportation representative says the project is moving right along on schedule, and says traffic will always be able to pass through.
