CSU fraternity raises more than double their goal to help the homeless
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -
What was supposed to be a unique fraternity community service ended up as a huge philanthropy event that gained a lot of attention from people in Columbus and raised more than double their intended goal.
The Pi Kappa Alpha brothers were trying to raise $2,400 worth of items, but they ended up with goods totaling $5,441.
Organizers say they were surprised by the outpouring of support the event received.
"…I knew we were going to get a lot of cans because we had a lot of support, but never in the million years did I know that all of the Columbus was going to care about this cause," said Pi Kappa Alpha member Branden Printup.
