Meeting set up on Craigslist ends in shooting

Kenneth Bevel Kenneth Bevel
CHAMBLEE, GA (CBS46) -

Police are investigating after a man was shot during a meetup to buy a Comcast cable box from a Craigslist ad.

On Aug. 13, 34-year-old Shihan Kamal invited the seller, 27-year-old Kenneth Bevel, into his home. According to police, Bevel attempted to rob the victim.

Bevel was accompanied by a woman and child during the incident.

"I thought they were nice people, they came here with the family," said Shihan. "I thought, 'they're not going to be dangerous people.'"

After attempting to rob the victim, Bevel fired several shots and fled the scene, according to investigators. Shihan said he was hit by four of the bullets, but has since recovered and is able to walk on his own.

"I don't want anyone to have that experience," said Shihan.

Police said Bevel is currently wanted on outstanding warrants. If you have any details in this case call 770-986-5008.
